ART FOR ART'S SAKE 

Art for Art's Sake is an exhibition for artists who identify as having a disability or a mental illness and gives them the opportunity to display and sell their artworks. Visual Arts and Culture Arts are a way that people with a disability can participate in their community, relate to others and to express themselves in their own unique way. The arts can give joy, purpose, stimulation and a sense of self and one’s place in the community. Many people with a disability struggle with isolation, may experience exclusion and are could be misunderstood by the mainstream. The mission of Art for Art's Sake is to enable people with disabilities to reach their full potential and to experience the positive impact the Art can have on the lives of all people - when art is seen as art for art's sake.

Exhibits

Recycling, Repurposing, and Bricolage as an art form or practical object should be created from discarded, used or found objects that are put together in an unexpected or creative ways. Things could be lying around the house, yard, gathering dust in your shed, bought from the op-shop or at garage sales. 

Bricolage: Art of the found object invites you to showcase and/or sell your up-cycled creations as part of our upcoming exhibit at the Mitchell on Maranoa Gallery. 

Entries Close: Tuesday 26th October 2022 

Exhibition Opens: Saturday 29th October 2022, with a celebration night to be held on Friday 9th December.
