Art for Art's Sake Exhibition
The Art for Art’s Sake Exhibition gives people with a disability or mental illness the opportunity to dream and achieve recognition for their art as expression of themselves. We challenge the community to share the dreams and walk beside those who experience adversity, building an inclusive world where all people are valued for who they are and the contributions they make to all communities. The mission of Art for Art’s Sake is to enable people with disabilities or mental illness to experience the positive impact that art can have on the lives of all people – let’s work together to build a bridge for us all to share the dreams through Art for Art’s Sake.
The 'Art for Art's Sake' Exhibition opening was the 22nd of July at 3pm. It was a wonderful afternoon spent enjoyign some nibbles and coffee in the courtyard, before a walk through the gallery to admire the amazing display of artworks. The exhibition was officially opened by Tilly Butler-Woodall a coordinator of the exhibition and CEO of ALT.Skills. She gave an inspiring speech about the importance of appreciating people in our community who live with a disability or mental illness and the contributions they make in our community. Allowing people to have opportunities likes the arts to express themselves and have a voice, a chance to dream.
