Kenniff Country Quilter's Exhibition
A stunning display of the amazing local talent, creativity and hard work.
The Kenniff Country Quilters Exhibition opening was on the 3rd of June 2023 (Saturday) at 2:30pm and was a well-attended event. The exhibition was officially opened by John Ford, the President of the Mitchell on Maranoa Gallery. He gave an excellent speech about his experience as a judge for last year's "Art for Art's Sake" Exhibition (2022) and how he learned that it's not always about the biggest artwork or quilt. Instead, it's about the one that catches your eye and speaks to you. Excellent words to remember when placing your 'Viewer's Choice' vote for your favourite quilt at the library. John also brought along a beautiful handstitched pillowcase made by his grandma. It is nearly 100 years old and has the original paper template attached.
Congratulations to the Kenniff Country Quilters on another successful exhibition and for sharing your beautiful creations with us.
The Kenniff Country Quilters Exhibition will be back again next year to showcase their creativity and passion.
